For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works...EPHESIANS 2:10
Father God, the Creator of all things, we come this first Sunday morning in May acknowledging Your amazing works and magnifying the blessed Trinity with awe-inspiring glory, adoration and praise. Thank You for keeping us this past week and for waking us up to see a new sunrise. Thank You for sanctioning us to worship in the sanctuary, in Your presence as You renew, refresh and restore our minds, bodies and souls. Father, we lift our hands and eyes, surrendering all our worries and burdens to You. Thank You for the forgiveness of our sins. Thank You for our spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and financial well-being. Father, we pray that our words, thoughts and actions resemble Your will and Your ways. We offer these sincere prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Despite the wide variety of beliefs that fall under the general “Christian” label today, the Bible defines a true Christian as one who has personally received Jesus Christ as Savior, who trusts in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness of sins, who has the Holy Spirit residing within, and whose life evidences change consistent with faith in Jesus.
Because we are “followers of Christ,” We have committed our lives to “walk as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6). Ephesians 2:8-9 reveals that a person becomes a Christian by faith, not by following a list of rules or good works: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” A true Christian has faith in Jesus as the Savior.
We believe that in the beginning God (Elohim) created the Heavens and the Earth. 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

We believe that in the beginning God (Elohim) created the Heavens and the Earth. 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
God came into the world in the person of Jesus. Through him, he made a way for us to be reunited with God and to enjoy eternal life. Heaven is what we call the place where we will spend that eternal life with God. If you have accepted God’s gift of eternal life, the end of your life on earth is not the end. Heaven and eternity await. At Mt Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, we believe in the Holy Trinity, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the authority of the Bible. We also believe in the power of prayer and the importance of living out our faith in our daily lives.
We believe the Scriptures teach that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost; to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect, in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is prerequi
We believe the Scriptures teach that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost; to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect, in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is prerequisite to the privileges of a church relation; and to the Lord’s Supper, in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of bread and wine, are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination.
We believe in the Great Commission - Matthew 28:19-20 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - The Great Commission’s call to “make disciples of all nations” is a command, but it is much more than something God wants us to do. First, of course, it is something He wants us to live. Jesus wants us to be “all in” in following Him.
We believe in His Virgin Birth, the Crucifixion, the burial, Resurrection, Ascension, and Return. Based on the teaching of His life, from the Virgin Birth, His baptism, temptation, teaching, and the evidence for His claims as the Son of God. We conclude with a study of His betrayal, trials, death by crucifixion, burial, resurrection, and ascension, and subsequently His return.

“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:”
